Located at the junction of Adair Park, Pittsburgh, and Mechanicsville, Atlanta Crossroads Mural Festival (ACMF) celebrates these historic Atlanta neighborhoods while highlighting a diversity of local artists. Join us on July 27, 2024, for a colorful day featuring over 30 local artists, vendors, food, and more.
The event will run from 12 to 6 pm at the crossroads of Ralph David Abernathy Blvd and Humphries St SW.
Lou Holtz is the benefactor who has given us access to create the festival along the walls of his building on Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. Lou has seen the city grow and is a proponent of inclusivity and culture that promotes the surrounding neighborhoods in the area. He has helped us highlight our mission to create an event that involves focusing on how Atlanta can grow forward without sacrificing our past.
High Contrast, founded by Dosa Kim in December 2023, began as a small weekly meetup for artists of all skill levels. Initially, it started with just two members, but it has since grown to attract 20 to 30 artists every Tuesday. Participants are encouraged to bring food or drinks to foster a sense of community and engage with one another, with the aim of sparking collaborative projects.
High Contrast has launched various initiatives, including an ongoing art show focused on creating a deck of Tarot cards. Recently, it also hosted the ACMF, showcasing over 80 artists, many from Atlanta. The core mission of High Contrast is to cultivate a community where established and emerging artists can connect, collaborate, and present their work to the public.
Founded in 1998, Eyedrum is a diverse venue for creative arts and music programming, fostering the growth of Atlanta’s avant garde art and music scenes. This nonprofit and venue was founded by American painter Woody Cornwell, along with musician and journalist Marshall Avett, and is now headed by William Lawless. It is located at 515 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd, across from the Crossroads mural site.
We’re excited to have No Surrender Vintage Collective hosting a pop up market, with around 20 vendors. Their vendors throw down a stellar variety of clothing, home goods, art, and more. Vendors will be located at 687 Humphries St SW in the Holtzquip parking lot.
The festival will run from 12 to 6 pm on July 27 and is located at Ralph David Abernathy Blvd and Humphries St SW, across the street from Eyedrum. We recommend setting your GPS to eyedrum at 515 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd SW (a.k.a RDA).
Parking is along Stephens St and in the other neighborhood streets south of the event. There is NO parking along Humphries Street between RDA and Stephens. Parking is limited, so we recommend carpooling, ride share, and alternative methods of transportation.
There will NOT be any road closures for this event. Cars must abide by local traffic regulations. Pedestrians, please stay out of streets when walking, and take caution when crossing the road, as there will still be cars present.
There will be two porta potties in the Holtzquip parking lot between buildings A and B. There will also be restrooms in the eyedrum gallery, located across the street from building A.
Please be courteous to local neighbors and place all trash in trash bins. Our mission is public realm investment through art, so please keep the streets clean.
Want to support local artists and neighborhood beautification? Join our team to help us set up, break down, and support artists and visitors at the event. We are looking for volunteers the day of the event on July 27, along along with the two weekends prior to the event, in which the artists will begin their painting.
